The April by Kunbi
design label is one of the go-to brands for signature, custom made
pieces perfect for dominating the red carpet, wedding guest lists, your
wedding day and the stage.
Created by designer, Olakunbi Oyelese, the brand is a favourite for the everyday Nigerian woman and female celebrities like Tiwa Savage, MoCheddah, Toke Makinwa, Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi, Makida Moka, Bolanle Olukanni and many more.
A
graduate from the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in
New York, Kunbi dreamed of creating a brand that would bring forth the
fun and youthfulness of fashion – and she’s achieved that dream. The
brand is known for its show-stopping embellishments, lush fabrics,
daring cuts and stand-out aura – all the things that make a great April
by Kunbi piece.
The brand has showcased at a number of fashion events, including the Music Meets Runway events since inception, and most recently the Heineken Lagos Fashion & Design Week 2015. From what we’ve seen so far, each year brings a new era for the brand and we can’t wait to see what 2016 holds.
Yesterday, singer & EME’s 1st Lady Niyola rocked a signature piece from the fashion brand’s “InTuxicated” collection showcased at the #HeinekenLFDW2015, to the 2015 Corporate Elite
event. The dress, a stunning black piece complete with mesh sleeves and
collar, embellished bodice and frame-fitting silhouettes, looked
marvelous on the star act with styling by Ngozi Zed-Eye.
We
absolutely loved her look which was completed with her hair in a low
